Club Articles
What are we up to?

We try to keep our members, sponsors and guests up-to-date on the latest club news. These articles are usually written by our news group or released by the local paper following an interview or event.

License Plate Requirement
Deadline July 1st, 2012 - Are you ready?

Starting July 1st, 2012 all ATVs & UTVs will be required to have a rear license plate attached. This license plate will not be provided for you. You’re going to have to build/buy it yourself – the club has obtained the requirements for this license plate and published a page to help you.

Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) Rules
What are the new rules about UTVs on the trails?

The club has created a new page to help answer some of the questions about UTV (Utility Terrain Vehicles) - In a nut shell – the driver must be at least 16 years of age. The driver must have completed an ATV certification course (and passed it) before operating a UTV. Most of the same rules about head lights, tail lights, brake lights and speed limits are the same. Cannot carry more passengers than the machine was designed for and the noise limit is the same as ATV’s. A rear license plate is required and not all ATV trails are allowing UTV’s on them yet, but most do. Yes – North East Wisconsin Riders Inc. does allow UTV on our trail.

Survival in the Wilderness
What can we do to help you venture out in to the wilderness?

ATVs and the Wilderness go hand in hand. You really can’t enjoy one without liking the other. For years people have been exploring the great outdoors by hiking and camping in the woods. Now with the sport of ATV’ism growing, people can now explore the great outdoors without all that walking. For the first time explorers or those thinking of riding ATVs – we try to provide you with as much information as possible. Articles posted here deal with outdoor survival – what you should consider before venturing out for the first time.

Wilderness survival gear and equipment

Selecting the appropriate wilderness survival gear is important to have a safe wilderness trip. However, remember your most important survival gear is your brain! Mental preparedness, knowledge and skills are a must, without that, nothing else really matters.
